We Are open during Construction
Do you know what happens with unsold amaryllises? They stay in my greenhouse in pots (read - watering). When it is reliably warm, I take them outside and plant them into the flower bed. Sometimes I plant the whole pot!. They stay outside the whole summer fattening their bulbs ( read - watering, feeding, weeding). In the fall I took them inside, removed them from the pots, trimmed the roots, cleaned the bulbs and left them in the cool dark space for the bulb to consume the energy of the leaves. In mid October I have to re-pot them, warm them (75+ F), and watch them come to life and push their flower buds out! So it is quite understandable that when this year's Christmas sale was a bust for me, and I finished with the supply of heavily budding bulbs, I have to find the good homes for them and thus reduce my future workload. And we decided to add a SHOP to the SOEL Farm website. Granted, we did not have time to be fancy about it - so for now our shop still has the "We are open during construction" sign. If you want to buy - please give me a call (or text) @ 917-913-2425. We will arrange the rest - payment, pickup date and time, etc. No shipping yet. The price for 1 bulb in a landscape pot is $15. In the beautiful reusable dry moss decorated pots - $20. If you need to have a really extravagant gift - I can put 2 bulbs in one large moss pot. The supply is limited - so please call early!
This cold hardy amaryllis features double, pure white flowers with green centers. When they are not fully opened they seem to be light green - and then open in their full snow white glory. They are able to overwinter in the ground in temperatures down to 10° F, producing blooms year after year - however not recommended for our zone 6 climate. Read instructions how to care for this beautiful flower here. Usually 2 stems, at least 4 flowers each produce lush white blooms. Preatu compact - the one shown is 19" tall with the moss pot. Alasca
One of the most exuberant, spirited Amaryllis of all, Spartacus has large red flowers with flamboyant snow-white stars and is astonishingly beautiful. Reaching about 23" - 25" it sure draws attention and makes a statement. Add to this that both stems, each with 4 flowers, appear almost simultaneously and keep for a long time. Highly recommend this one.
